Terms of Use

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These terms cover your use of the Paperluna application and this website. Paperluna is free software — we want the terms to be as plain as the app.

1. The software is free

Paperluna is provided free of charge. There is no purchase, subscription, or account. You may download, install and use it on your own devices at no cost.

2. Open-source license

Paperluna is free and open source. You’re welcome to use, copy, modify and share it under its permissive open-source license, which ships alongside the full source code. Nothing on this page limits the rights that license grants you.

3. Your content stays yours

Books, documents, annotations and reading data you use with Paperluna remain entirely yours and are stored locally on your device. We do not claim any rights to them and never receive them.

4. Acceptable use

Please use Paperluna lawfully. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to open, store and read any content you import, and for complying with the licenses of any DRM-protected (e.g. LCP) publications.

5. No warranty

Paperluna is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any damages arising from its use.

6. Third-party services and links

This site and the app may link to third-party websites, catalogs (OPDS) or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices. The website uses limited analytics as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Downloads and integrity

Always download Paperluna from this official site. A SHA-256 checksum is published on the home page so you can verify your installer is genuine before running it.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
